Samsung has officially unveiled its next-generation flagship smartphones — the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra — at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in San Francisco, positioning the new series as its most intelligent, powerful and privacy-focused lineup yet. The launches were accompanied by a wider Galaxy ecosystem refresh including new earbuds and deeper AI integration.

AI and Performance at the Core
Samsung emphasized Galaxy AI, integrated at the system and camera level across all three models. Features like real-time translation, contextual suggestions, advanced image editing and multi-assistant support (including Perplexity, Bixby and Google Gemini) were spotlighted as major software differentiators. Samsung also highlighted hardware designed to support sustained performance with improved thermal management and power efficiency.
Galaxy S26: Compact Flagship With Balanced Hardware
The Galaxy S26 is designed as the more compact flagship model, combining powerful hardware with a pocket-friendly form factor. It features a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 2600 nits. The phone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2600 in select regions or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in others, paired with up to 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage up to 512 GB.

Photography on the S26 is handled by a triple-camera setup — a 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 10 MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom — along with a 12 MP front camera. It has a 4,300 mAh battery with fast wired (up to 45 W) and wireless charging support, and all devices run One UI 8.5 on Android 16 with Galaxy AI features built-in.
Galaxy S26+: Bigger Display, Larger Battery
The Galaxy S26+ brings a larger 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with the same adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Like the base model, it uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 depending on region, with up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

Photography hardware matches the standard S26, with a 50 MP main, 12 MP ultra-wide and 10 MP telephoto camera, and a 12 MP front shooter. The S26+ steps up in battery capacity with a 4,900 mAh battery and faster 45 W wired charging. It also supports wireless and reverse wireless charging, and retains IP68 water/dust resistance and premium build quality.
Galaxy S26 Ultra: Ultimate Flagship Hardware
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the most advanced model in the series, offering top-tier performance and camera technology. It boasts a 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display with 120 Hz refresh, up to 2600 nits peak brightness, and a first-of-its-kind Privacy Display that obscures side-angle viewing for enhanced on-screen security.

Under the hood, the S26 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 “For Galaxy” chipset paired with 12 GB or 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.0 storage. The camera system includes a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, a 10 MP telephoto and a 50 MP periscope telephoto module with advanced zoom capabilities and AI enhancements.
Battery capacity is 5,000 mAh with 60 W wired fast charging, 25 W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The Ultra also includes S-Pen support, expanded AI imaging tools and the most robust Galaxy AI experiences in the lineup.
Software, Ecosystem and Price
All three models launch with One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 and long-term update support. Samsung showcased deeper ecosystem connectivity with tablets, watches and earbuds, including the new Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro.
