BlackBerry officially announced the DTEK60 with 5.5 inch QHD display, 4GB RAM and fingerprint sensor.

BlackBerry officially announced the DTEK60, its 3rd Android based smartphone. The design of DTEK60 is similar to DTEK50 however specification is improved. The device is priced at USD 499(INR 33, 500 approx.) and it is now available in Canada.

The DTEK60 comes with metal-framed body with a dual-glass finish –glass is used on both side front and back of phone. The fingerprint reader is equipped at back of the device. The DTEK60 has a 21-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash and PDAF. On the front side the device has a 8-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash.

The DTEK60 comes with a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB RAM. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device has 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto 2TB via microSD card.

In terms of connectivity the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC and 3.5 mm audio jack. The device is powered by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The device’s sensor list include Fingerprint, Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, Proximity, Ambient Light, and Hall Effect.

The DTEK60 comes with some security features that protects the private details of users from being hacked. The device has secure bootloader that uses multi-stage verification to ensure that the Android OS hasn’t been tampered and to protect business data against hackers by rooting the device. FIPS 140-2 encryption protects the all data stored on phone.
