September 25, 2025 — Qualcomm today officially introduced its next-generation smartphone SoC: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This new chip aims to push the boundaries of mobile performance, efficiency, and on-device AI, bringing enhancements to CPU, GPU, NPU, and intelligence capabilities.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm N3P node, making it not only faster but also more power efficient than its predecessor. Qualcomm’s Dragon Fusion computational pipeline, powered by AI, applies real-time tone mapping, exposure adjustments, and color corrections, rivaling professional-grade editing software. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 integrates the X85 5G modem, enabling faster upload speeds, stronger coverage, and improved efficiency.
