BSNL announced a national unlimited 3G mobile data plan for Rs. 1,099 and doubled the data usage limit in some existing plans

State-run BSNL announced a national unlimited 3G mobile data plan for Rs. 1,099 and doubled the data usage limit in some existing plans to counter the competitor’s strategy of slashing data rates by up to 67%. In July Idea, Airtel and Vodafone increased the data benefit by 67% to counter threat from Reliance Jio which is offering 90 days free unlimited data and phone call service.

Now BSNL is first in the industry to offer unlimited 3G plan for Rs. 1,099 without reduction in speed. Here if you compare to this plan to other service provider in same price range, Airtel offering 10GB on Rs. 999 plan, Vodafone is offering 11GB on Rs. 1097 plan and Idea is offering Rs 7.5 GB on Rs. 1099 plan. BSNL has doubled data usage in Rs. 549 plan and Rs. 156. Now user will get 10GB data instead of 5GB in Rs. 549 and in Rs. 156 plan user will get 2GB instead of 1GB.

BSNL is gaining customers due to improvement in network, BSNL added most number of subscribers in April for a third month in a row, as per data released by telecom regulator Trai. BSNL added 11.39 lakh subscribers followed by Bharti Airtel (9.78 lakh), Aircel (5.72 lakh), Reliance Communications (1.1 lakh), Vodafone (46,600), Quadrant (Videocon Group – 25,012) and MTNL (11,591).
